Do seniors need Physical Therapy?

The answer is Yes! When a normal person suffers from a fall, an injury or an illness, doctors will recommend physical therapy as the best form of treatment to restore strength to the affected area and aid in the healing process, thereby reducing pain and discomfort. Some people may have preconceived ideas of physical therapy as being a trial method for seniors where not much importance is given. This is the wrong notion, as physical therapy is A-quality treatment, not just for seniors but for people of any age who have just gone through surgery. There are many rehab centers that recommend physical therapy exercises to restore lost health.

Valley House Rehabilitation Center is one such senior care facility that offers a wide range of services in physical therapy rehabilitation, post surgical care, orthopedic therapy and ultrasound therapy to name a few. There is a comprehensive orthopedic program for seniors who are active and healthy, but have recently experienced a physical injury; resulting in a loss of mobility, self-care, and physical function. The trained staff from this facility will provide 24 hours per day of skilled nursing care apart from offering support in other activities of daily living.
